Hi all! I don't actually know how many readers I have out there, but I'd like to ask the few of you for a favor. As many of you know, my husband is currently deployed. Groupon has started a contest for best “kiss” picture for Valentines Day and I have entered a picture of the last kiss my husband was able to give our little girl before deployment. The winner receives Groupon bucks and these would allow my husband and I to get some date nights in when he gets back or maybe even allow us to go away for the weekend on a soldiers salary.

2 years already...
I feel like just yesterday I gave birth to my gorgeous light of my life, Miss A. It has been quite a two years and some of the best moments of my life. I just love her to death. And Tuesday she really did turn 2. 2 whole years of teaching her, cleaning up her messes, pulling my hair out, and watching her grow and develop and become such a sweet and caring little princess. 2 years it took before her first dosage of antibiotics. That's right, we spent her second birthday at the Dr.'s office. Poor girl has bronchitis. Birthday plans were canceled, she opened presents, Facetimed with Daddy, slept alot and blew out the candles of her cupcake while Skypeing with her Grandparents and Uncle. Technology is really a beautiful invention. And made the day a little easier on me, Momma. This is the 2nd birthday Daddy has not been able to spend with his little girl, which you can imagine is a bit rough emotionally on Mommy too. I actually think the sickness made the day a little easier on me, rather than having tons of birthday fun and thinking about how Daddy was missing it once again. All in all, I think we managed to make the day special anyway. Happy 2nd Birthday to my little Sweet Pea!

Just a Few
I have decided on a few small resolutions this year. Yes, I have the "make every moment count" theme. And maybe you could tie these into that, but really they are just things I want to do and I don't think I'm trying to over achieve. Small goals I don't think will be too hard.
1. I've already started! Bought the Crochet Lab Craftsy class in their Black Friday sale. Started learninv to crochet today!
2. Knit at least 3 pairs of socks this year for myself (really because I need more wool socks)
3. Read just as much as I did last year, if not more. 13 books in 2013. Maybe I will strive for 14 in 2014.
4. Run a 5k.
5. Last be certainly not least, finish an adult size sweater. Whether it is one that is started or a new one I don't care. I just need to finish!!
We shall see how I do.

New Year for Me
I've actually had a great year this year. So many things accomplished, I'm finally getting my house together and organized, and my daughter is getting so big and provides such joy. Granted we've had our downsides. The biggest was saying goodbye to my husband during his long deployment.
2014 will bring great things I'm sure. But just so you understand an Army wife's thought process I'm sitting here thinking that it will either be an amazing year with a homecoming, or the worst year of my life from that dreaded knock on the door. That's the way we think, sadly. Especially after we just lost 5 soldiers from my husbands battalion. I don't think I've talked about that here. A heart wrenching few hours of not knowing if my husband was ok after hearing his type of aircraft went down in his area. Turns out he was on the recovery mission instead. I'm really going to try not to take advantage of anything after that experience. I'm not going to dwell on it either or sit at home constantly worrying. I'm going to spend quality time with my daughter and make every moment count. That's the theme this year. (the Knitmore girls do themes instead of resolutions). There's so much that them encompasses. Time with my daughter, not sitting around on my butt and my cell phone, not eating when I can be working out. Or knitting. Or sewing. Or blogging. Seriously if I added up all the 5-10 minute increments I sit here playing candy crush or cruising Facebook I could do so much with that extra time! So here's to 2014!

WIP Wednesday
There isn't much to share this week. I'm working on the same old scarf, But I'm still quite enjoying the cables on the scarf. I'm halfway done. This week has been super stressful for me. My daughter is becoming super clingy and does not let mommy do anything on her own. The moment she goes to sleep it's time to get my house clean. We've also been pretty busy the past week or two. This means lessening time of course. I did cast on one new item this week amen in for Annabelle. Then we put on our winter coat for the first time today and the sleeves cover her hands. It's a bit big still. I'm not sure if we are going to need mittens.
I have done more reading this week. It's easy to do on my Kindle app on my phone when in about doesn't let me do anything but sit with her. I did finish The Yarn Whisperer by Clara Parkes. I haven't read a book this fast in a very long time. I felt like everything in this book was so familiar.. Her writing reminds you of your own life, your own family and your own friends. I felt like I was reading the journal of a friend. This could be because she was from my hometown of Rochester, NY and she mentions it many times. Her aunt she talks about that she loved visiting lived in Michigan - so does mine. There were so many similarities throughout this book. With that said, I did feel like she tried to push a little too far on some of the metaphors to make them work. I highly suggest the read. It's the the best fiber related book I've ever read but it's definitely worth the time.
